What do you mean?

STATE is neither a TSO command or a REXX keyword or function.

In VM/CMS the STATE command is used to verify if a SAS Database segment exists on an individuals 'A' drive. Example:

STATE NOV03 REMUN A;

Where REMUN is the SAS FILETYPE and NOV03 is the segment and 'A' is the drive.
Hope this helps.

Superk is right. STATE is a VM/CMS command (actually, CP, if I remember correctly), not a TSO command, and it's not restricted to checking for SAS segments.

In TSO, with CLIST or REXX , you'd use the SYSDSN function to check the existence of a dataset.
