Jai,

There are many ways of resetting the copy pending status.If you have DB2 V6 or higher, you can have the option to do LOAD REPLACE LOG NO NOCOPYPEND. The below listed are some other techniques.

  • LOAD REPLACE LOG YES
  • LOAD REPLACE LOG NO with an inline copy
  • REORG LOG YES
  • REORG LOG NO with an inline copy
  • REPAIR SET with NOCOPYPEND

The following Sample JCL with REPAIR utility will remove the copy pending status.

Code:

//STEP0100  EXEC PGM=IKJEFT01,REGION=3072K
//*
//SYSUDUMP DD  SYSOUT=*
//SYSTSPRT DD  SYSOUT=*
//SYSPRINT DD  SYSOUT=*
//SYSTSIN  DD  *
  DSN SYSTEM(DB2P)
-REPAIR OBJECT LOG YES SET TABLESPACE ZZZZZ NOCOPYPEND
 END
//*

Or alternatively If you are sure about that you dont have any foreign key violations on the child tables then you can use the following DSN command to start the databases

Code:

//STEP0100  EXEC PGM=IKJEFT01,REGION=3072K
//*
//SYSUDUMP DD  SYSOUT=*
//SYSTSPRT DD  SYSOUT=*
//SYSPRINT DD  SYSOUT=*
//SYSTSIN  DD  *
  DSN SYSTEM(DB2P)
-START DATABASE(DBNAME) SPACENAM(TABLENAME) ACCESS(FORCE)
 END
//*
