Hi,
One of the business user has deleted a file from his own library. But he doesn't know the name of the file or pds. Now this is affecting us in completing a critical task.
Is there anyway we can find the name of the file which got deleted.
Any small help from you is welcome.
Note : This file is a routine which perform some calculations and provide a result like Rexx. _________________ Thanks,

It appears to me that you are not using the correct definitions of what you want. A file is cleary identified by a name, and if addressed by any program or name you will see the file name. Now, according to your first sentence a member was deleted from a library (file). Here you might be able to find the name of the member. In any case, you can restore the file if you know the name and have a backup of it.
If all else fails you could examine SMF records to find out if he deleted a file, I do not know if this is possible if he deleted a member.
In any case it is a lot of work and questionable if it can be justified. |

If you have PDSTools from the CBT Tape or Star Tools from Serena you can use the RECOVER command. The Recover will not work on a PDSE or a compressed PDS though. |

Suggest someone get busy and determine why/how a "user" can delete like this (i.e. code that is currently used) . . .
Sounds like there is no configuration management in place and that should cause great concern for everyone.
Not only was this deleted, but it was not backed up. At most of the organizations i've supported, this would be grounds for termination. . . _________________ All the best,

Why would a "personal" file be that critical?
