Hope this makes sense - I did a search, couldn't find anything:

Code:
INREC OVERLAY=(81:DATE=(MD4(/))
SORT FIELDS=COPY
INCLUDE COND=(1,10,CH,EQ,81,10,CH)


I get ICE027A - END OF ___ FIELD BEYOND MAXIMUM RECORD LENGTH

So, instead, I do this:

Code:
INREC OVERLAY=(81:DATE=(MD4(/))
SORT FIELDS=COPY
OUTFIL REMOVECC,
  INCLUDE=(1,10,CH,EQ,81,10,CH)


And it works.

What am I missing Question

Does INCLUDE/OMIT COND statements only apply to the original (non-INREC'ed) layout?

mickeygoo,

The INCLUDE COND is executed before the INREC statement and hence the error. But in the second case the INCLUDE is on OUTFIL which happens after the INREC

Check this DFSORT Processing diagram
