Hi All,

I am sending a spreadsheet as attachment in email using MIME.
But my requirement is to add formatting (means change of font type, color, size, bold, underline, etc. inside the attachement i.e in the spreadsheet thru JCL.

Can anybody help me out in this.

Thanks In Advance,
Computer

computer,

Send the attachment as HTML and you can specify the various text formatting options. Check this link for examples

Hi Kolusu,

I checked the link, but still it is not serving my purpose.

I want to apply text formatting inside my attachement, not in the email.

Means, e.g. I am sending an Excel sheet as attachment. So I want to do formatting in the EXCEL sheet.(Like add some backgroud colors to headers for the columns, size sud be big, bolded,etc...)

Hope, I am clear with my requirement this time.

Thanks,
Computer

I would've thought that the suggestion to create the document in html format would've worked. Have you tried to use the Symbolic Link (slk) format? How about xml?

I don't know what the other members might suggest, but beyond this point it seems to me as if you might have to contact Microsoft directly and ask them to provide you with the details of their proprietary .xls format and maybe you can replicate them. I doubt they'll be willing to provide it to you, but it may be worth a shot.

computer,

The only way I can think of is coding a macro and embed it in the excel file which will act similar to conditional formatting in excel

ex of a macro are :

http://excel.tips.net/Pages/T002380_Changing_Font_Face_and_Size_Conditionally.html

You can code this macro in a hidden column in excel
