There are GDG base of 15 version on DASD - using 5 cylinder each for every version w no RLSE parameter mentioned . Some of the files are migrated - will the dasd space be released in this case. Please advice. _________________ Thanks,

Obviously because the dataset is being MOVED from DASD. The RELEASE (RLSE) parameter releases unused space at the end of the creating jobstep. _________________ Utility and Program control cards are NOT, repeat NOT, JCL. |

Migration will only copy the data and not the free space. It will also record the space attributes for when the dataset is recalled. Whether the space is released on recall depends on your SMS ACS routines. _________________ If it's true that we are here to help others,
