Hello.
I am getting a DFHRM0401 trying to start a CICS region.
(Start Rant)
System Logger is the biggest piece of junk ever put out by IBM. Great idea, terrible implementation.
Why the H should I, as a CICS sysprog, have to become an expert in System Logger as well? Do I not have enough to do already? I can't allocate the files with JCL, which only worked fine for like 40 years or so, but wasn't good enough? Everything in LOGGER defaults to being part of a sysplex, which may or may not be the case. When you set a default, it should be something you do have (SYSDA), not something you might or might not have!
The DFHRM0401 tells me it might be empty or it might not be there then gives NO INDICATION WHATEVER what datasetname it's looking for!!!
(end rant)
Does anybody know anything about how to solve this? I've tried cold starting. I've tried INITIAL. I don't know how an INIT start can fix it anyways because it never seems to get to the point INSTALLING GROUP LISTNAME.. anyways!
ARRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! |

ALright. I still had a START=AUTO on my sysin, so it was doing an emergency restart.
Changed it to START=INITIAL and the group list to DFHLIST and it did finally come up after alot of complaining.
I reserve the right to hate system logger as much as I want to! |

And for my final rant:
System logger is like low flow toilets!
I'd love to flush them but I can't!
DSNZPARM gen time...
