I am a neophyte in easytriev and the manuals don't seem to help.

I have a DB2 input field decimal 20v4.

I need to report it in the format of -999999999999.9999. I can't seem to get the mask working properly - I am dropping low order digits or just ignoring sign and deciomal place is not being propagated.

I defined input as amt W 10 P 4
I defined output as amt 060 15 N 4 MASK '-9999999999.9999'

For every byte of Packed decimal Field you need 2 bytes of numeric field. So in this you need 14 9's for integer portion and 4 9's for decimal portion and 1 byte for sign

Thanks but that doesn't help.

I cut the field to 6 packed by moving it to a work area first and then to the output field and it still does not propagate the decimal and does not use the sign position.

The packed decimal field does not have exclusive decimal stored. Here is a way to get the results
