The book says its an invalid token passed by ESPIE reset.

The application doesn't use ESPIE macro at all. What z/os macros or service uses ESPIE under the covers?

The application is a multitasked file transfer using VTAM Lu0. in Assembler Language written eons ago. Just started failing since upgrading to a z9. Has been working on many MVS etc. releases for many years. Has been working on z/os 1.4 for a few years, until flopping over to z9, still on same release. Dasd hardware has changed but still emulating 3380/90.

Thanks for any advice.

DWK,

what is the reason code associated with it?

I think there is a problem with Addressing mode of the assembler module.

I'm sorry:

I forgot to say it was S46D-14. reason code 14.

I suppose it could be an addressing mode problem, but it never failed like this for many years, even under z/os v1.4 till they upgraded to thez9.

Unfortunately I don't have a sysudump, so I cant relate the psw to my program.

They sent me a sysmdump but I havent been able to read it into IPCS and I'm not fmiliar with the procedures.

I have asked for a sysudump but have not gotten one yet.
