Would the above switch declaration and the usage of them as shown make sense?
I thought the "AND NOT S-NEW-XXXER" was not necessary.
Any other thoughts to share please?

It makes sense to me simply because, as coded, the IF statement is checking the values of 2 different fields. Both must be true for the "true" part of the IF to be executed.
