The OP insisted that there were no differences - other than the results - between run 1 and all subsequent runs.

Dick,
The OP could not show us the JCL or Joboutput, so I have my doubts if there really were no differences.
Unless the original JCL contained a STEPLIB-statement for the step in question, the scenario I described is feasible.
Perhaps it is unlikely, but all the likely reasons had been dismissed for one reason or another. So time to introduce the less likely

Jan, you are correct, I just wanted to point out that the scenario would have involved a change in something, which the OP insists did not happen The OP would rather find that the computer made a mistake - which is highly unlikely.
As you said, without access to any meaningful data (jes output, jcl, etc...) this will be a hard problem to solve. _________________ Dick Brenholtz

I have spend (wasted) a lot of time in the past looking at problems like this only to find out than someone forgot to mention a program or someother change. |
