I am trying to put a fixed length file from Mainframe to windows server.

My JCL:

//STEP01 EXEC PGM=FTP,PARM='(EXIT=16',REGION=4096K
//*
//INPUT DD DISP=SHR,DSN=Bxxx.test(Ptest)
//*
//OUTPUT DD SYSOUT=(,)
//ABENDAID DD SYSOUT=(,)
//SYSOUT DD SYSOUT=(,)
//SYSPRINT DD SYSOUT=(,)

In the FTP parm(Ptest) I have given

Servername
Username
Password
cd ext/elig/
PUT 'Bxxx.EXTFL' File.data
CLOSE
QUIT

Now my problem is I am seeing the BOLD below problem. JOB is successful and the file transmitted is not the expected 750 length. Can some one let me know where I am going wrong.

EZA1701I >>> CWD ext/elig/
250 CWD command successful.
EZA1460I Command:
EZA1736I PUT 'B4453.CEXTRNL.E4453PRD.BKP' 13.GSF.data
EZA1701I >>> SITE FIXrecfm 750 LRECL=750 RECFM=FB BLKSIZE=27750
500 Command unrecognized.

EZA1701I >>> PORT 10,115,20,129,10,102
200 PORT command successful.
EZA1701I >>> STOR 13.GSF.data
150 ASCII data connection for 13.GSF.data (10.115.20.129|2662).
226 ASCII Transfer complete.

AFAIK it is just an informational message. LRECL and RECFM and BLKSIZE parameters are NOT valid on Windows.

That's why, if it's a non z/OS FTP site, I always make it a standard to specify SENDSITE before any other commands.

File is successfully transferred and trailing spaces are stripped off.

My exact file length is 750. Data in the file is of 610. The other end receives the 610 characters after the trailing spaces are stripped off

sriramkarumuri,

Code this in your FTP card

Code:

locsite TRAILingblanks

This specifies that the FTP client preserves the trailing blanks in a fixed format data set when the data is sent to a foreign host.
