If you want to interrupt a program you press a PA key which cannot be trapped to display a message. ESC keys are for PC interfaces like windows, not ISPF...

If you set the emulator keyboard to map the esc key to ATTN then you can use SIGNAL ON HALT NAME yourlabelname in your rexx code. When the user presses esc then they should get IRX0920I ENTER HI TO END, A NULL LINE TO CONTINUE, OR AN IMMEDIATE COMMAND+ If they enter HI then the signal command will cause the code at yourlabelname to be executed. You could put your message there.

Hi,

I have used the ZPFKEY variable to trap the last PF key pressed in my REXX programs. But I have never trapped the ESC key. I am interested to know if that can be done.

Regards,
Manas
