Do we have to write JCL to check tape status or there has other ways?
if need jcl, can someone supply an sample. Device like 0DA3 ?

Which tape management product do you use at your shop.
They all come with pre defined reports to tell you information like that, and much much more. _________________ If it's true that we are here to help others,

Can you issue commands like D U,,,0DA3,1 and view the results in SDSF? The response will show if the device is open(O), allocated(A), offline(F), etc. _________________ Regards,
