Hi,

Please help me in getting the owner name of a dataset.I tried the same using LISTCAT.but for some of the datasets, i got the user name as NULL.

Listed below the scenario and the result

PS file created manually by the user - owner name was NULL
PS file created by submitting a job - owner name was NULL
VSAM file created by submitting a job - owner name was NULL
VSAM file created manually by the user - The TSO ID GOT DISAPLAYED

I have a requirement where i need to delete the dataset created by me(we create datasets in a common first qualifier).

Please help!!

For future use, put your ID as part of the lower level qualifiers - that is what we do.

To get over the current situation, somewhere in the VTOC entry for the dataset the ID is sometimes (always?) held. There was a thread on this a month or so back but it may have been on another forum and I certainly did not understand it.

Try looking at the SMF records. Type 61 will show the userid that caused the dataset to be catalogued.
