Hi All,

We facing abends while taking back-up of VSAM files and the reason for abend is the file being in use(may be updated) by users. So jobs are failing with error codes ADR799E and ADR790E.
The suggested solution is to use CC option but due to which LPAR is becomming slow causing distrabence to other bussiness units.

So i require some solution to above mentioned problem.Some one please help in this regard.

What DASD hardware do you have installed ? And does it have the additional hardware replication facilities installed ?

Do you have TDMF installed ?
Is this a PIT backup ?

I am surprised that using CC the effect it has on the LPAR, as all of the real work is performed within the cache of the DASD box. Unless of course the amount of data you are trying to DUMP/COPY is huge and consumes most of the cache to cover changed datablocks. MAybe your DASD cache needs to be reviewed and possibly increased.

Thank you verymuch for replying my problem.

Yes our data is very huge due to which LPAR is getting slowed.

The OS is: z/OS 01.04.00
SPA - DASD space

Please help me in solving this...
