Hi Gurus,

Where can we find the valid line commands that can be used in 3.4 option ?. I seached a line command (QDS - it is a home grown line command) in SYSROC and SYSEXEC datasets. It was not available.

Thanks
Ravikumar.

I think he is really asking where to find local commands that are available in 3.4 -- in other words, how do you find the name of all programs in the execution search order.

The only way I know is to 1st understand the search order that TSO and MVS use to find a command (job pack, task libs, steplib, linklist, lpa, sysexec, sysproc, etc) and then use ISRDDN to look at the libraries that are configured to satisfy those searches. QDS is usually a load module, so ISRDDN S QDS would locate that and you might find other commands in the same location, but for CLISTs and EXECs, you need to manually scan the data sets allocated to SYSPROC, SYSEXEC and maybe a couple of other libraries.

WARNING: It is not a good idea to simply try the names of modules you find in libaries as commands. If your shop has good security you probably will not harm other data, but if security is not perfect you could do some damage, and you could always harm your own id because the linkage conventions for some modules coincidentally can cause damage to TSO control blocks that store your id's settings and because they may access resources that cause security violations and revocation of your id (or even your employment). If you find interesting modules, browse them to see if you can tell what they are, and then read and ask around about them, including asking your systems group before you try to use them.
