Hi All,
I'm using Fileaid to search thru a set of datasets for multiple strings like
Code:
//SYSIN    DD *                   
$$DD01 LIST IF=(1,0,C'string1'),     
            OR=(1,0,C'string2'),   
            OR=(1,0,C'string3'),
            -------------------
            ----------------etc


Is it possible to get the search result in the SYSLIST in a better formatted way?

Something like

Code:
string1           <corresponding record>
string2           <corresponding record>
string3           <corresponding record>

Which will give the serach string as well as the corresponding record or record number.

Why not write a program in REXX or some other language?

It's been a long time since my shop got cheap and got rid of File-Aid, but looking thru my old JCL, I think that you can get what you want by using MOVE. Something like...

Code:
$$DD01 LIST IF=(1,0,C'string1'),MOVE=(to,length,from)
