Hi

One of our mainframe application takes data from Oracle (11i).

Oracle supports special characters in Kanji (Japanese addresses) . However when I ftp the flat file (which is dump of Oracle database ) to mainframe , all these special characters badly affects the input data and its format.

Data looks perfectly correct in Oracle database but when it gets dumped into flat file , all problem starts .

Is there any kind of utility (either at MF end or Oracle end )which takes care of any special characters ?

Or Is there any different way to approach this problem ?

Thanks
Ksandy

You need to look into topics 5.21 , 5.28, 5.64

Hope this helps...
