The Max. no of split screens is 8 in our shop. Is it terminal dependent or can it be increased ?

The system variable ZSCRMAX gives the max. no of split screens available. Is it possible to increase the no. of screens using REXX ? I heard from someone that IBM systems have max of 32 screens!!!

Please clarify.

Phantom,

The maximum number of screens available to you is dependant on your installation's MAXIMUM_NUMBER_OF_SPLIT_SCREENS keyword value entry in the ISPF Configuration table. ISPF ships with a default figure of 8.

Nothing much Diba, 8 screens is not sufficient for me, as I need to do lot of analysis work.

Please note that the more screens that you have active, the greater the chance that you will run out of memory in you TSO address space.
