|
|
I am currently running DB2 8.1 on z/OS 1.4, using Control Center on Windows to manage my mainframe databases. We have recently acquired the expertise of a DB2 consultant who also uses Control Center to manage his DB2 databases at other locations. He has informed us that there is a Control Center function missing in our Control Center. He tells us that by "right-clicking" on a table in Control Center should give us several options, including one called "Generate DDL". We don't have this option in our Control Center and I can't seem to find any reference to it in the manuals.
Does anyone know how to enable or configure this "Generate DDL" option in Control Center? Any insight to this would be very helpful!
Thanks,

kolusu,
Thanks for the link. It does verify that I should have the right-click option to generate DDL, but my Control Center doesn't display that option. I suspect that if I had it, it would run db2look under the covers and I can probably use db2look to get what I need, but the GUI right-click would be nice. You wouldn't happen to know how to enable that feature, would you?
Thanks,

Kolusu,
Thanks for the assistance. I'll keep digging to find out how to enable this feature in Control Center and update this post when I find out more info. Sooner or later someone else is going to have the same problem!

vmbigot,
Do you get the generate DDL options for local DB2 UDB on Windows DB tables.

Manas,
We don't have any DB2 UDB for Windows databases here at the office, just DB2 on z/OS. However, I downloaded IBM's free DB2 the other day on my PC at home so I'll test the Control Center generate DDL option on those databases. Thanks for the tip!
