Hi friends

I am finding problems with finding the attribute of VSAM file and base GDG through REXX. I am able to capure the attributes of PS file by use tso comand LISTDS. But couldn't able to do for VSAM and base GDG.

That's because you can't use TSO to list the attributes of a VSAM file, either. When you try to use the ISPF dialogue to list a VSAM file, it gets you started on a utility that helps you write an IDCAMS batch job. Use the IDCAMS utility functions in your REXX exec and you'll be fine.

CaptObvious, could u please elaborate how to use IDCAMS utilities funtions in the rexx program by stating examples?
