Is there any function to find out the first day of the current year in db2?

Assuming that you wanted the date in CCYY-MM-DD format , the following query will give you the first day of the year.(January 1st)

Code:

SELECT DATE(SUBSTR(CHAR(CURRENT DATE),1,4)  ||   
       CHAR('-01')                          ||   
       CHAR('-01'))                               
 FROM SYSIBM.SYSDUMMY1;
