Hi,
I am currently working on an installation that uses VSAM KSDS files as the primary means of data storage. In order to increase performance it has been suggested that we use "Journaling" to reduce the recovery time in case of abends.

I am aware of the use of "Journaling" in the CICS environment but not sure in the Batch side. Is there any concept like this?

Regards,
Meetrb

meetrb,

JOURNAL provides a batch journaling facility that is analogous to CICS journaling. It allows you to recover the VSAM updates made in a batch environment without re-running the batch jobs.
