Hi Friends,

Can you please help me to understand the following assembler code.

BDCHK900 DS 0H
*
LR R2,R15 SAVE ERROR CODE
L R3,4(R13) SAVE USER'S R13 VALUE
*
STORAGE RELEASE,LENGTH=72,ADDR=(R13)
*
LR R15,R2 RESTORE RETURN CODE VALUE
LR R13,R3 RESTORE R13 VALUE
*

Here i am not getting explanation of STORAGE in any of the manuals i have or provided in the Quick Manual Links . Can you also please provide me details for any manual which contain all these facts like STORAGE ?

I think it is an MVS Macro. Can any one guide me to any good reference material on MVS macros.

The STORAGE macro is described in "z/OS MVS Programming: Assembler Services Reference, Volume 2 (IARR2V-XCTLX)" SA22-7607. Here's a link to the latest version of that book:

STORAGE OBTAIN is used to get storage. STORAGE RELEASE is used to release storage.
