Hi,

I'm writing a new IMS DC program using DB2. I'm new to IMS. I'm writing a new program in IMS DC/DB2. Old program is written using IMS DB/DC which I'm converting to new program. I need a favour. Can any one send me a sample IMS DC/DB2 program which will be helpful for me in writing the new program.

my id : hvj04@yahoo.com

thanks in advance.

Nadh,

Every shop has their own standard template for IMS DB/DC programs. It is better to clone one of your existing programs in your shop. Even if some one sends you a sample , you would have to waste a lot of time trying to understand it. The best bet is get your programming basics right and IMS/DC program coding should be a walk in the park.

I would highly recommend to buy the books written by Steve Eckols. He has 2 books one for IMS DB and other for IMS DC. I have both of them and they are very useful.

Here is the ISBN for IMS DB book : 0911625291
Here is the ISBN for IMS DC book : 0911625305

Hope this helps...

cheers

Thank you Kolusu,

I got the 2 books and going thru them. In this shop they do not have any ims/db2 programs. We have to develop new programs. If i got thru one program i thought it will helpful to me in writing new programs.
