Hi
We know that when a parameter like MSGCLASS in a job is not set/defined it assumes the default values, now the question is where
exactly the defaults are set & can we alter the default specifications.

The manual doesn't explain this topic quite as well as some others, so I'll help you.
The JES2 startup parms specify the default values for each job CLASS. Jobs submitted to CLASS=A may have different defaults than CLASS=B jobs. To display/set them, you'd need to be authorized to issue the $DJOBCLASS(x) and $TJOBCLASS(x) commands. Otherwise, check with the JES2 sysprogs.
Regards,
