Viewing a Date defined as 9(8 ) and the actual value in it is 03142002 , this appears as 3142002 , without the leading zero i,e.
Now , without changing the PIC to X(8 ) in the associated Copybook or without changing to File Aids Char View Mode , is there a command in Formatted mode of File Aid by which we can view the Leading zeroes in Numeric items ?
If there isnt any command , I can still view the leading zeroes ,if any ,in Char mode , but the convenience of Formatted mode is lost in which case .

Since you did not want to change the copybook, I am afraid that there is no way to avoid the supressing of the leading zero.
