I would really like to thank all the members for their support and participation on mvsforums. We now have more than 10,200 posts. I thank all the active members and the moderators for doing a wonderful job.
Now coming to the topic, I want all the active members to show off their mainframe skills. Let the members show their talent/experiences in solving the difficult/critical questions.
So every member is free to post any number of difficult questions related to mainframes and all other members except the topic starter will have a shot at answering the question for 3 days. The poster will post his solution at the end of 3rd day. I will be creating another forum for such,so that members can post in that forum. I also would appreciate if you can come with a name for the forum. Once the post is answered in full, I will be moving the question to the approriate forum.
The poster with the optimal solution will be awarded points. Based on the points at the end of the month, the member will be awarded the title " Member of the Month".
However I am excluding myself from this competition, as I answer most of the questions. But I will post questions.
Any ideas and suggestions are welcome
Thanks

Kolusu..how about the name "Sawal Jawab".
The concept of this new forum is really great
Also I would like to tell you that I get lot of value out of this help board. Once I used to get the same from the other board, but that has now become full of Bull SH**.
From now onwards I will visit this site more frequently. It is so peaceful here. _________________ Rajib |

Raj051076,
Thanks for the suggestions. However I have to disagree on "Sawal Jawab" as many of the non indian members might not understand it. The forum name should be understandable for all the members.

What about having a 'Topic of the month' or for that matter 'Topic of the Week'? This will have the most interesting discussion of that week. The idea is basically to draw peoples attention to it. Normally we miss out some interesting threads because they get pushed down to the bottom. |

Sawal Jawab? I googled this and most of the hits were non-english but from what I did see it implied Sawal Jawab = question / answer. Is this anywhere close to correct? If not enlighten please. |

taltyman,
You bag the first prize . sawal = question and Jawab = Answer. Since You won the first prize, you are bestowed with duty of coming up with a name for this forum.

Well, even if you exclude yourself, again there will remain someone who will be answering most questions. If Pareto is right, 20% of the members will be answering 80% of the questions.
'Revenge of the Nerds', now is it becoming too american? I was not aware of it, and when I looked at google, it appears to be comedy movie where some guys use brainpower for some sort of revenge. Still it is the relevance is not clear, probably I will have to watch it.
I quess any name will be less familiar with some section so whatever name you choose, provide some explanation too, unless the context and meanings are obvious.
I was reading some old posts from where I got a suggestion - IEHPROPHET. This was semigeezer will get a chance to learn it too. |

Call me dumb, but I don't quite understand your statement. I am excluding myself from being considered for the "member of the month" award, but I WILL be answering questions.
You raise a valid point for revenge of nerds. That was just my opinion. Come with an ENGLISH name and be assured that we will use a name which can be understood easily.
You know this site has a "preview" option to check your post before posting.
Btw Revenge of Nerds is a funny movie. You can watch it on Comedy Central.

My point was that you are taking yourself out because you answer most of the questions. But there is probably someone who answers most of the question after you. So, by extension of same logic he would be out of competition too.
Sorry about not using preview properly, I got so used to the edit option that often I forget to review. Hopefully not any more.

Not exactly true. I was thinking that each person can have of max of 3 awards after which he will join me.
