|
|
Hi,
I am currently working on a Task which requires java Methods/APIs to be invoked/called from a Mainframe Cobol program (operating in z/os environment).
If anyone has experience working on similar tasks please help me out on the following :
1. What are the various ways this copuld be achieved and what would be the best approach. Please direct me to any documentation.
2. I was thinking of the following two approaches :
a) Invoke Java methods directly from the existing COBOL program. Please let me know if this is feasibile. In case it is, what kind of changes does the Cobol program need to undergo in terms of coding and compiling.
b) Create a connector program (written in Cobol using OO concepts) to invoke Java methods and then call the connector from the main COBOL program. Please let me know if this is feasible. If so, what kind of changes
does the Cobol program need to undergo in terms of coding and compiling.
Any other suggestions on the approach to be taken are welcome.
