Can anyone tell me,is there any other way of running a COBOL-DB2 program apart from using standard IBM utility IKJEFT01.
Adding to that, we use IKJEFT01 for running REXX program also, how this utitlity differentiate a rexx program or db2 program. I want to know how it identifies and execute.
Please anyone can help me in solving the above queries. Can we run DB2 program without using IKJEFT01 |

Hi,
IKJEFT01 is a TSO execution interface. It does not recoganize the DB2, but the command you provide in the SYSTSIN (DSN SUBSYS, PLAN, etc) is used to attach to DB2 (Via call to CAF). Is your question is for knowledge or a requirement ?
RRSAF can be used as a transaction manager to connect to DB2. You may also trigger a CICS transaction which in-turn can attach to DB2, but why all this ? |
