here is my problem. I have to convert a VB file to FB file. If the record length is shorter than the lrecl, then pad the remaining of the record with a character, say '*'. I went to the dfsort tricks webpage and tried the option 'vfill' with 'outrec'. These don't work with syncsort. is there a way out with syncsort ?
thanks,

It's VLFILL, not VFILL. Try that and see if it works. _________________ Frank Yaeger - DFSORT Development Team (IBM)

DFSORT is on the Web at:
