As noted in previous postings, these Compuware utilities are quite expensive. However, I view them as necessary tools that help me do the best job possible as a mainframe programmer.
Has any other shop eliminated these products? What was the result? Were they replaced by other tools? My shop is considering the IBM "equivalents", although I doubt if "equivalent" is actually an appropriate description.
Has any one switched to other products, only to switch back to these Compuware tools??
Any information you would like to share with me will be greatly appreciated!!! |

I saw Xpediter and FileAid getting replaced by IBM's Debug tool and Filemanager. I found Debugtool much better than Xpediter, it doesn't lock up your TSO session. The debugging is shown in a separate session. Filemanager is also not too bad. But there is no way to convert your exissting XREF to filemanager equivalent. |
