I am trying to determine to what extent PDSE's are used at our shop. Is there a way to scan the vtoc?, if so could you provide a jcl sample that could scan DASD vtocs and report on PDSE's on a volume? Thanks Matt

Run an IEHLIST and look for "I" inder the SMS.IND column for PDS-E.

Code:
//LIST     EXEC PGM=IEHLIST
//SYSPRINT DD SYSOUT=*
//DD1      DD UNIT=3390,DISP=OLD,VOL=SER=volser
//SYSIN    DD *
 LISTVTOC FORMAT,VOL=3390=volser
