Just testing the waters on creating XML output from some flat files. Choice is to use XML GENERATE command or hand-code.
Are there any problems with XML GENERATE? Frequently with a lot of IBM's newer releases there are teething problems.
Would like some input from people who are using this in a production environment.
Thanks a lot |

Never used XML GENERATE from COBOL. But we had as similar requirement to generate XML files from a flat file. We used XMLGEN from Fileaid and used the data file and a layout file as inputs to generate the XML. The variable names from the layout file become the tag names for the corresponding data. |

OK, thanks. We don't have FileAid, we have FileManager. I need to see if that has this feature. |
