Just testing the waters on creating XML output from some flat files. Choice is to use XML GENERATE command or hand-code.

Are there any problems with XML GENERATE? Frequently with a lot of IBM's newer releases there are teething problems.

Would like some input from people who are using this in a production environment.

Thanks a lot

Never used XML GENERATE from COBOL. But we had as similar requirement to generate XML files from a flat file. We used XMLGEN from Fileaid and used the data file and a layout file as inputs to generate the XML. The variable names from the layout file become the tag names for the corresponding data.

OK, thanks. We don't have FileAid, we have FileManager. I need to see if that has this feature.
