Hi Friends,

For one my requirements, I am trying to find whether it would be possible for me to check the size of the input files in the program itself and also create a new file.

In CICS I know it could be possible, but in BATCH using cobol, I would like to know the feasibility.

Thanks and Regards,
Sivasathivel K

It can be done by read till EOF but it will be costly. To create a file in a program you can use GODYNAM utility or there are lots of other utility for this purpose. You can specify the file name and also the file parameters. A few other utilities are also avaiable which will help you create PDS.
