Hi,

Can we give HOLD=<number>? What does this mean ? I have seen HOLD=<Y/N>, but dont know what does the number indicate.

Ranjish,
HOLD parameter is used if we want to delay the execution of a particular job till an external event is completed.There is an option to define certain jobs as a network of jobs(dependent jobs).In such cases,it is possible to specify a count which gives the number of predecessors/successors etc.I feel that this might be the count which youwould have encountered -- I am not very sure.

This is used in JES3 sytems.JCL Manuals has some more details.
