Hello,

I am a beginner as far as quickjob is concerned. I was going through this program to get a feel of the tool when i came across the term EQU during File Definition.
eg-EQU QUOTE-CH WST17 X'7D'

WST i believe is the Working Storage Definition. Does WST17 mean a length of 17 bytes or is it just a naming convention? What is X7D. Is it the initial value in Hex form?

Another example is
EQU FIRST-READ WST16 C' '

Does this mean that WS variable FIRST-READ has an initial value of blank or spaces?

Thanks

X'7D' is for single quote.

I feel, very irritated when I have to enclose data that has a single quote. The programmer who put X'7D' in the above code, is my alter ego. That is how I would like to deal with single quote.
