Hi! Anybody can help in defining a VSAM file which I wanted to get a specific dataclass, because right now, the file is not an extended VSAM and I cannot add/define it in the ACS routine of the SMS.

Thanks for the help.

CONGROUP7,

If your shop is sms managed then you can use the DATACLASS(EXTENDR) parameter on the definiton of the vsam cluster.

Hope this helps...

Cheers

And if your storage guys are worth their salary there will be restrictions on allowing just anybody to use extended formats and addressability.

First step is talk to the storage guys, obviously you are not one as you do not have access to the ACS routines.
