INIYA,
Is this hidden ajenda question ? Can't you just look up if your pgm has 'OPEN cursor' statement? During runtime if you try to fetch the cursor which is not open then it would result in a -501 error sqlcode. Check for sqlcodes -501 thru -511 for all cursor related errors
