Does share option 5 exist in VSAM?
I got an SOS form my colleague who saw this option being exercised in a design doc.
He was told that with shareoption 5 the user will have access to the uncommitted data, and there is a cross check done before actual commit is done. So please let me know if thus option exist at all or not because I have checked IBM Manual:" Access Method Services for VSAM Catalogs (SC26-4905-02)" but could not find this option.
Also I tried to create a KSDS with share option 5 and got an error message "IDC3221I CONSTANT '5' NOT WITHIN VALUE RANGE"
Can anyone enlighten me on this |

Gore,
As far as I know there is no share option 5 in vsam, the valid values are 1 thru 4. May be it is a typo in the design document.
