How many Tracks form one Cyclinder while we allocate a dataset ? Is there any formula or is there any standard rule that is used to calculate the number of Cyclinders required ?

Yadav2005,

The no of tracks in a cylinder is device dependent and 3380 3390 9345 - these drives all have 15 tracks per cylinder.The numbers 3380 3390 9345 are disk model numbers .We calculate the size based on our assumption the dataset is going to hold based on the data it stores.
