Running the EPSPT against a TZONE SMP/E 34.13 on z/OS 1.7 and receive:
Report Level:1.04.4 Last Update:2005/08/17
For target zone S2#OSO
MSG 004: SYSTEM ERROR: Target Zone Not Valid
The EPSPT program is downloaded from ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/s390/pspapartool/ at each run.
I am able to access the subject TZONE, S2#OSO, via SMP/E(34.13) ISPF dialogue.
EPSPT has been running on our z/OS 1.4 system for some time (SMP/E 32.16)
I also note that if I give a bogus TZONE name on z/OS1.4 SMP/E I get the same message.
I also ran the tool against the an OEM TZONE on z/OS 1.7 and it ran fine.
So, I wonder if maybe the EPSPT is incorrectly \"internalizing\" the name, S2#OSO? Perhaps the \"#\" character is problematic? _________________ Ron Green

That IS the complete error message. Remember this is coming from EPSPT so the documentation is sketchy at best. _________________ Ron Green

I get some output from epspt but I also get 0C4 abend so I haven't convinced myself to trust it very much. |

I have been using EPSPT for a while and have only encountered this problem with z/OS 1.7. I do not believe it is an SMP/E issue per se. I have not encountered S0C4 . _________________ Ron Green
