Hi,

I've changed a SYSIN card in a JCL in TEST region. I need to test it in the test region. This particular JCL executes two IMS/DB-DB2-COBOL programs. These programs do some updates also. We are using GSAM access method. How to run the BIND jcl for this situation? Is it ok to bind it by just pointing the DBRM to PROD library in the BIND JCL? Or, anything else is also required?

Code:

//************************
//* JS010   - PACKAGE BIND
//************************
//JS010    EXEC PGM=IKJEFT01,
//             DYNAMNBR=80
//STEPLIB   DD DSN=D2TEST.DSNEXIT,
//             DISP=SHR
//          DD DSN=D2TEST.DSNLOAD,
//             DISP=SHR
//DBRMLIB   DD DSN=XXXXX.XXXXX.TEST.DBRM,
//             DISP=SHR
//SYSPRINT  DD SYSOUT=*
//SYSPUNCH  DD SYSOUT=*
//SYSTSPRT  DD SYSOUT=*
//*
//SYSIN     DD DUMMY
//**
//SYSTSIN   DD *
  DSN SYSTEM(D2T4)
//          DD DSN=XXXXX.XXXX.XXX.BINDJCL(PACKXXX2),
//             DISP=SHR
//************************
//* JS020   - PLAN BIND
//************************
//JS020   EXEC PGM=IKJEFT01,
//             DYNAMNBR=80
//STEPLIB   DD DSN=D2TEST.DSNEXIT,
//             DISP=SHR
//          DD DSN=D2TEST.DSNLOAD,
//             DISP=SHR
//DBRMLIB   DD DSN=XXXXX.XXXXX.TEST.DBRM,
//             DISP=SHR
//SYSPRINT  DD SYSOUT=*
//SYSPUNCH  DD SYSOUT=*
//SYSTSPRT  DD SYSOUT=*
//*
//SYSIN     DD DUMMY
//**
//SYSTSIN   DD *
  DSN SYSTEM(D2TEST)
//          DD DSN=XXXXX.XXXX.XXX.BINDJCL(PLANXXX2),
//             DISP=SHR
//*

Would you please suggest me the changes that need to be done to this JCL? I mean, should all D2TEST be changed to D2PROD. Should all TEST.DBRM be changed to PROD.DBRM?

Please give reply ASAP.

TIA.

Are you trying to run a production load module in the test DB2 region? If so, everything should point to D2TEST except for the DBRMLIBs which should point to production.

For information only.

For IMS - DB2 combinations , check ENABLE parameter in bind parameters.
