I need to be able to create ebcidic data files on an OS390 (or whatever it's called these days - a big IBM anyway) machine from a DB2 blob that contains zipped files (including a postscript file).
The files were zipped on pc then sent to mainfame and saved with cics cobol db2 program.
That's the brief I've been given. I'm a developer (as we're now known).
Has anyone any recommendations about the cheapest way to go? I only know cobol although there is java expertise here on site. I presume that there are off the shelf packages available ? Also is there only one standard zip utility ? Would I have to find out what utility zipped the files on the pc in the first place ? |
