Hi Team,
Simply put, can we do any other activity besides retreiving data using OLQ....I mean can we modify, erase data using OLQ..?
When I logon to OLQ, the messages I get are:

quote:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

OLQ 100021 00 Ready to retrieve data from subschema IDRSCSP
OLQ 100022 00 Schema: IDSSCSP Version: 100
OLQ 100025 00 Dictionary name: APPLDICT

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thanks
Saurabh

Saurabh,
I guess you are talking about CA-OLQ. It is an Online Query tool for CA-IDMS and report writer that accesses data stored in an Advantage CA-IDMS/DB database. It provides users with easy access to the data. The advanced menu facility quick help to users to create reports. You can compare this similar to QMF in DB2

Hope this helps...

cheers

Yes: we have done online olq erase at our installation. Rem schema/racf etc must allow "update" mode. Also we ran into trouble if erase large nbr rec as online logs(?) filled up.
