I want to copy the current version of the old GDG to a new GDG through REXX:-
1> For that I have to copy the base GDG. How can I do so?
2> Then find the current verion of old GDG and copy that pds to the current vertion of new GDG. Is this a correct way to do so.

ranjit5311,

Please search before posting. Check this link

http://mvsforums.com/helpboards/viewtopic.php?t=3082&highlight=generation

This post shows how to allocate the current gen and once allocated you can simply copy the contents.

Hope this helps...

Cheers

I tried the code at this link, but it did not work. It seems that if there is a dataset name that is the same set of nodes as that which was coded, but that is longer, then the LISTCAT gets that information instead.............

For example if I put in

A.B.C.

and there is a dataset named

A.B.C.D.E

then it seems to go after the last one.
