Hi,

I have a file which has 400,000 records. I want to edit this file.

1. Can I edit this file using file-aid?
2. Can I edit this file using normal ISPF edit option?

In both the cases, browse mode was substituted for the file. Please help me in this regard.

Are the file that you are editing is an indexed or a flat file ?

The file was a normal flat file.

If your intention is to edit any particular record then do the following:

Enter "Q" for Selection criteria usage in Specify Selection Criteria Information.

Press key ENTER

Enter the position and the data value.

I would recommend that you look into using the "batch" version of File-Aid. It is much more powerful and flexible than the online version.
