Senthilkumar Murugesan,

Application Development Facility (ADF) is an IBM licensed program that is an aid for reducing the time, cost and risk in developing and maintaining IMS applications. Running as an application program under IMS, ADF interprets specifications and executes applications, making it possible for many IMS applications to be developed and put into production without conventional programming.

Unfortunately this product has been withdrawn from marketing and supply. If your shop is an existing customer with a license then you can order the manuals.

If not you can still buy them here

Hope this helps...

cheers

venkat,

IMS Application Development Facility (ADF) II books are not available in softcopy. To order the publications in hardcopy format, see the IBM Publications Center and search by book order number.

The book order number is

Hope this helps...

Cheers

Kolusu,

Some more information on IMS APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT FACILITY II

IMS Application Development Facility II (IMS ADF II) is a generalised application program designed to meet the common application requirements, thus reducing the time and costs involved in programming with IMS/VS. IMS ADF II provides a standard framework that include many functions required in developing application including:

1.Sign-on security
2.Screen flows and menus
3.Validation of data
4.Calculation and other processing
5.Data base retrieval ,display and updating
6.Message sending ( and printing)

Developing a simple application with IMSADF II involves little more than selecting the functions needed. When an application requires more than complex processing,or when installation-specific requirements must be met , IMSADF II provides exits that allow to add our own routines written in COBOL,PL/I or Assembler.
