Hi all,
I recently attended an interview and i have some questions which i need some help for the answers.
1.When do we go for DFSORT / SYNCSORT ?
2.How do we know that a CICS application program is using Pseudo Conversatioanl technique / how can we tell by looking at any CICS application program is using Pseudo Conversation technique ?
3.What do we mean by Isolation Level paramaters and why do we use them ? What do we mean by the two parameters Cursor Stability and Repeatable Read ?
4.Can we execute a package / Plan ? What is the difference between Package and Plan ?
5.What is the difference between Call by Value ,Call by reference,call by data in Cobol ?
6.What are DB2 stored Procedures and where & why are they used ?
7.What is the use of temporary datasets and why do we use them ?
8.What are Bufferpools in DB2 and where do we use them in exact significance ?
9.What do we mean by EIBCALEN and DFHCOMMAREA in CICS ?
10.Before writing to any files from CICS,how do we know that the files are open / not , or how do we know what is the status of the files whether they are existing or not ?

These questions are fairly basic for a CICS/DB2/COBOL interview. I think if you are applying for this job then you should be able to answer these questions. Perhaps what I am offering is kind of "tough", but I really think that you'd be better served if you researched each of these questions on your own.
Others may disagree with this assesment. If you will do a little research and post your own answers, I would be very willing to help you, and hopefully through this work to expand your knowledge. I feel that if I just answer the questions for you, that it is not likely to stick with you, or really enhance your understanding.
As an example, if you read about pseudoconversational CICS programming, you learn what it is, how it differes from conversational programming, the coding techniques involved, and why it is important. Then if you are asked this type of question again, you'll be able to explain all of these things, and you will impress the interviewer.

I totally agree with DTF. I already provided answers for your prior interview questions. By now you should be able to search and find out the answers. Btw did you look at the TECH faq section of Mvsforums?
